Building toward a more connected care journey

Amazon Web Services has featured OneLine Health in a customer story about the company’s work with Basis and AWS to transform clinical data capture and patient care workflows.

The story describes OneLine’s mission to reduce physician administrative burden while helping care teams work with a more complete view of the patient. It follows the development of an AI-powered clinical reasoning system designed to surface useful context earlier in the care journey—from intake and referral preparation through the patient encounter.

Bringing fragmented information together

According to AWS, the system brings together information from PDFs, scanned documents, external medical records, laboratory results, imaging, prior notes, and patient intake. AWS highlights Amazon Textract as one of the services used to extract information from scanned clinical documents.

The resulting context is tailored to the physician’s specialty and scope of practice. Conversational models also support pre-clinical intake by gathering information about the patient’s presentation and symptoms.

Supporting physicians and patients

AWS reports that the implementation has saved providers up to seven minutes per consultation while helping streamline referrals and improve billing efficiency. The customer story also describes deployments across healthcare institutions in India, the United Arab Emirates, and Europe.

The broader direction extends beyond a single point solution. OneLine is building a connected physician-support experience spanning patient intake, clinical reasoning, documentation, order entry, and billing submission—with physician review remaining central to the workflow.
